This DVD is for anyone thinking of starting a peer support programme,
for new peer supporters and to inform health professionals and to get them
Involved.
There is an increasing number of women starting to breast feed but UNICEF
suggests that 95% of women don't breast feed for as long as they want to.
The purpose of peer support is to focus on the drop-off rates for breastfeeding
and to counteract adverse peer and family pressure in the community.
Health professionals giving information about breastfeeding increases women's
knowledge but peer support encourages a change in behavior.
